Jesus, the Radiance of God’s Glory

I love the book of Hebrews, and I love the word of God! Because the Word is a living, breathing book of truth, I can read it one day and get one truth, and then another day the Holy Spirit will reveal a new truth that I didn’t see before. So astounding! Today was a perfect example.

Reading in Hebrews 1:3, I was so encouraged by what it says: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and *the exact representation of his being*, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”

Wow, wow, wow!!  Jesus, the Radiance of God’s Glory!!  Praise His name!

God’s Provisions are Endless

Reading on, in verse 14 the Word informs us, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”  My friend, this also is good news!

Have you ever heard someone say after a person’s passing that Heaven needed another angel?  Well, that is not true.  We are God’s saints when we know Jesus and have entrusted our life to Him.  Angels are created by God to minister to His saints!  Isn’t that exciting to know?

There are angels fighting battles in the heavenlies on our behalf.  I don’t know about you, but that sure gives me comfort!  The Word says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ~ Ephesians 6:12 KJV  Friend, it is those angels who do our warfare in the “high places” on our behalf.  Glory hallelujah!!

Here are the other truths that jumped out at me during my reading in Hebrews this morning:

“Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.” ~ Hebrews 2:11  Jesus makes us holy and calls us family!  Get excited about that!!  I know I am excited about that!  Thank you Jesus!!

And lastly, I highlighted these verses as they spoke to me this morning:  14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16 For surely it is *not angels he helps*, but Abraham’s descendants. 17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[a] fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”

Notice it says it is *not angels he helps*.  We are the object of His help!

Jesus is fully man in order to redeem all of us from the curse of sin, and He is fully God (*the exact representation of His being*.)  He left his throne in Heaven to come to earth, become “fully human in every way” in order to free us!!

Live in the freedom Christ has given you my friend!  It’s yours for the taking when you place your faith in Him!
