So, here we are in 2017. Are we ready to embrace a new year, possibly one of change? Are we willing to boldly forge ahead in whatever areas God leads us?
I don’t know about you but fear of the unknown can be enough to stop me dead in my tracks. Today I’m finding encouragement from portions of Psalm 116 and 118. Won’t you join me in reflecting on these verses?
I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Psalm 116:1 Isn’t it comforting to know that God hears us? He cares about what matters to us!
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. Psalm 116:2 ~ As long as I live!! Whether that time be long or short, I know I need to call upon Him, trust Him, and follow Him all my days!
Look here in Psalm 116:8-9 at some of God’s promises, the way He cares for us:
- For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
- I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
Do you see that? He has delivered us. We will not die but live! He will bring joy instead of tears, and He will keep us from falling. Isaiah 40:31 tells us we will walk and not faint. Read and reflect on it with me, won’t you? “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me. ~ Psalm 118:6-7
The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. ~ Psalm 118:14
Wow! Those are some awesome promises from our awesome God, and He will not fail us. No, not ever!! His mercies are new every morning, and He will never leave us or forsake us!!
So, Sing to the Lord a New Song, and Praise His Name!!
