“God says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
So much to do, so many things to accomplish. Lord, where do I begin?
“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Really Lord? Be STILL??
How can I be still when my mind is going in 16 different directions at once?? Well, maybe not 16…but a lot of directions for sure!
I don’t know about you, my Internet Friend, but my mind can take me places I don’t even want to go, especially when I try to quiet it and focus on God.
I do find, however, that sometimes when I am reading God’s word, the Bible, He gives me an idea for something I’ve been wanting or needing to do. Sometimes I act upon that idea right away and it turns into a really good thing, and I know that is because He directed it and was in the outcome.
But, sometimes I file it away in the back of my mind and it gets lost, usually never to be remembered the same way again; the inspiration is gone. Anyone else ever been there?
So, I will continue to strive to be still and know Him. And I will be strive to be sensitive to His prompting when He gives me an idea and act on it right away before the idea drifts off into the empty spaces of my memory, never to be found quite the same way again.
Heavenly Father, thank you that you are exalted in all the earth, that the Heavens declare your glory. Guide me Lord and help me to always be sensitive to your leading. Help me to respond to your promptings and always be obedient to You! I love you Lord, and I pray for my Internet Friend who is reading this prayer right now, that your blessing would be upon his or her life and that he/she would submit himself/herself totally to You! I pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen
